Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced my semi-retirement as Dojo President. There are several reasons and stipulations concerning this, so I'll ask you to read the assembly log if you were not present at the meeting for the full story. Basically I will not be around much at all between now and whenever the AI expansion is released. Thaylia has been appointed as the new org president. I am sure she will do a fabulous job in the months ahead, just as I know that the rest of the org will give her their full support. As for me, I'll try and pop in every now and then to keep in touch, so this is not a final goodbye by any means.

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of this past assembly here.

Saturday, February 21'st

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced the opening of FotD and the beginning of our recruitment phase. If you have anyone in mind who would be a good fit in FotD, please refer them to the thread on our forum, or the general public info thread I will be posting later this week in the offical FC "Life on Rimor" forum.
  • Mentioned that many of our player-run banks are active and updated once again! Please check the inventories on our forums if you are interested in benefiting from them.
  • Voiced my personal thoughts toward AO and our org. Basically my interest in the game on the whole is beginning to wain, so the efforts we are making to update and breathe life into the org now are very important to me and my future here. I would like to thank everyone who has come forth to help in the past weeks, and hope that the future will look as bright as the past has!

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of this past assembly here.

Saturday, January 24'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Talked about the "Regular Teams" section of our forums. Everyone please attempt to add their characters to the respective lists in the coming weeks to aid in this external teaming effort!
  • Suggested and implimented the "Shadowlands Days" idea. In the next few weeks, we will try and devote Tuesdays and Saturdays to SL-related activities within the org. For more information, or to suggest some activities, please visit our Shadowknowledge forum.
  • Spoke of the re-organization efforts within the org that will be taking place in the next week or so. There are several new threads now in the general forum dealing with house membership, player-run banks, and others, so please take a look and reply as needed!

Saturday, December 5th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced that both Neurobatica and myself will be away for a good part of December, and thusly there will be no official December assemblies. People are still encouraged to meet up and discuss things as needed of course, but there will be no further official org action in the coming month.
  • Announced that we met the goal for our forum costs! Our forums are now upgraded for another 6 months worth of service. Thanks to all who contributed!
  • Announced that the formation of the Helper House is postponed until after the holdiays. Also, all player-run banks will hopefully be brought up to date in the coming week so that all can take advantage of them during the December downtime.
  • Thaylia began a nice discussion about the recent departures from the org and how we could possibly convince people to stay in the future while at the same time not straying from the founding principles of the org. This is a very important topic, and will be item #1 to tackle in the future after the holidays. In the meantime, if you would like to discuss it more now or would like to possibly work on creating more org events, please use the forums to organize.

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of this past assembly here.

Saturday, November 15'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held an informal assembly this past Saturday. Basically we just spoke of what type of weekly/special events people would like to see going on in the org. Now that the "cleaning phase" is all over, we can begin to start up new projects. To begin, we are reassigning the player-run banks that have been dormant for a while in hopes that they will be more utilized in the future. Also, I have created a number of new forums to aid everyone in finding like-minded/lvled people for special teaming purposes. In addition, we are currently trying to begin a new official house, termed the "Mentoring House" for the time being, for anyone wanting to help in a more official capacity in the sharing of info and experience with our younger members. The official sign-up for the Mentor house is in our new Council/House application forum.

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of this past assembly here.

  • Talked in general about planning future events around the various SL quests, making it easier on everyone.

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of this past assembly here.

  • Welcomed back our VP Neurobatica from an extended away period - nice to have her amiable presence back in org chat!
  • Reported that everything went smoothly with the Dojo roster clean-up. All inactive applicants have been removed from the org. If any former applicant wishes to return to the org they may do so by simply asking me. For further details, please see the sticky thread on the subject in the forums.
  • Announced that FotD roster cleaning is now underway. If you have alts in FotD and would like for them to remain there, please post their names in the FotD thread in the general forum. The thread will stay active for about 2 weeks.

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of this past assembly here.

Saturday, October 11'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Talked about the process for org clean-up (basically a review of what is posted on the forums). If you are an applicant of the org, you should read the threads posted in the General Forum to learn what needs to be done to keep your place in the org. Org cleaning is scheduled to begin on 10/23.
  • Informed everyone that Nooki is now crafting Arul Saba bracelets on request. For details on what you need to provide, and what kind of bonuses you can expect, please visit the Arul Saba post in the Shadowknowledge Forum.
  • Thakilla5 suggested a coordinated effort for higher levels to collect pieces for the Tier 1 MA armor in Shadowlands. Be on the lookout for future posts about planned times for this

Thanks to all who attended! Due to RL work conflicts for me, we will not hold an assembly on 10/18. You can view the log of this past assembly here.

Saturday, October 4'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

  • Reviewed the current plan for the org roster clean-up. Please review the assembly log to learn more, and stay tuned to the forums in the coming weeks in order to keep informed of what is required.
  • Council applications were collected during the week and the thread is now closed. Applications are under review now and an announcement on new Council members should be made after a week or 2 has passed.
  • Discussed our various org banks (credits and player-run items). Basically we have a nice collection of banks and little use of them, so if you are looking for that particular MA-oriented item, make sure and check the forums to see if it is available!

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of the assembly here.

Saturday, September 27'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Spoke of Xiahang leaving the org and thereby leaving her Council seat. New Council applications are being accepted now - please visit the Offline Assembly forum to learn more about what is expected of prospective Council members and to submit your application.
  • Addressed of the lack of activity on the tower-war front within the org. Due to the lack of leadership in this area, we have tenatively placed any tower raid plans on hold, and will simply focus on any needed defense for our remaining land area. If you wish to accept a position of leadership and want to work on a new raid plan, please contact me in-game or leave me an offline message.
  • Discussed the possibility of an org roster clean-up. Basically if we decide to do this, we would have all members currently active sign a thread in the forums, then kick all of those who did not respond in the given timeframe (probably 2 weeks). Any members who return later would be granted instant re-invitations by myself, and I would most likely leave a handful of members alone who I feel may return soon and/or have served the org with distinction in the past. A vote as to whether or not to go through with this plan is currently being held on the forums - please head here to read over the discussion and place your vote. Voting will probably end next Sunday.

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of the assembly here. Remember that next Saturday we will hold and informal assembly at the site of Toriss and Jeathean's wedding at the Mystic Swamp Circle in Greater Omni Forest!

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of the assembly here.

Saturday, September 6'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Introduced our new org bot, Dojonet, provided by Saathi! The bot provides many useful features, some of which I outlined at assembly, and all of which you can research using the /tell dojonet help command. Late Sunday as well Fotdnet was born, and now links our 2 orgs' chat much like the old thedojo and fotd bots Punkmuffin provided.
  • I listed the changes for the MA profession in the 15 patch, and summarized the meanings of each as best as possible in the hour alotted for assembly ;) For the full details see the assembly log.
  • Was asked a few questions about perks and such that I (or anyone else in beta for that matter) can not answer due to the NDA. Once SL is officially released and "out" a bit I'll provide some analysis posts on perks and other SL content.
  • Some functions of the new GUI are not included yet/working correctly, so if something does not look right or seems absent, check the official FC forums to see if it has been reported.

Thanks to all who attended! You can view the log of the assembly here.

Saturday, August 30'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Saturday - here are the highlights:

  • Spoke of the possibility of making Assemblies mandatory in the future. Basically for the next month or so it will be important for us to have a nice turnout at assemblies since we will most likely be making some decisions concerning our future in the post-Shadowlands environment, as well as discussing all the new changes Shadowlands will bring us MAs. Please read over the meeting log if you did not attend for the full text of my current train of thought regarding activity in the org.
  • Held a special yalm drawing for those eligible in attendance at this mandatory meeting, and Najla was the winner! Congrats to her!
  • Thakilla5 brought up council seats and how to apply. We will take applications for council again on Sept. 1'st and will close the application thread a week later. If you are interested in serving as a council member, please see the "Offline Assembly" forum for specifics on what the council does and the impending sign-up thread.
  • Najla spoke of an idea to open a Shadowlands forum for all the new stuff there-in once the expansion is released. This is a wonderful idea IMO, and I will probably set that forum up in the coming days.

Thanks to all who attended or informed me of conflicts for this mandatory meeting! You can view the log of the assembly here.

Also added that we may not necessarily have assmeblies every week depending on the actual need for them. If an assembly is cancelled, I will post a message on Wednesday or Thursday of that week on the forums stating so.

Sunday, June 1'st

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Jarghen won the bi-weekly Yalm drawing - congrats to him!

  • Ivul brought up the interesting question of whether or not the new Shade profession that will come with Shadowlands should be included in The Dojo. Lots to consider here, so we will designate it as a major topic for next assembly. :)

After the assembly I was able to contact the people at Gridstream Productions and confirm our DJ for the party on the 15'th! See the party thread in the events forum for a link to their website so you know how to connect when the time comes. Thanks all for attending! You can view the log of the assembly here.

  • Began the planning stages for our 500'th Member Party! At this time it is scheduled for June 15'th, at around our typical assembly time (might start a bit early). Current location is the Galway Pool House at Galway Castle. A planning thread is now in the Events forum, so make sure to include your ideas and possible offers to help organize there. Also, feel free to begin inviting people - all omni and neutrals are welcome, and I will even allow some clan visitors as long as they are cleared through me first :)
  • Mentioned the new omni alliance that has formed in the past few weeks, named the Omni Federation. Our org is one of the charter members. For more details on what this alliance is all about and who it includes, please see my post in the general forum and read over the assembly log.
  • Ahurt brought up the possibility of more FotD profession banks. I feel we should follow the same path as with the fixer bank on this - if someone would like to gather nanos (or more) for a certain profession on their FotD character, pls contact me and I will set up a forum for you.

Thanks all for attending! You can view the log of the assembly here.

  • Informed everyone of some major reorganization efforts that will take place in the coming weeks. Included in the plan are a) deciding upon a new council election/nomination scheme (council elections are cancelled until then) b) a reset and reformation of the ranking system in the org, though almost all ranks will retain their identities from the past c) updating/adding possiblt new members to House Gassho (Recruitment) - if you are interested please talk to Neurobatica in-game d) reforming many of the player-run org banks - the sign-up thread for possible new members in charge can be found here e) reorganizing the Yalm drawing in light of Tubarolean's extended away-time (hopefully the drawing process will resume next assembly) and f) gathering names of those interested in House Kempo (PvP/Defense) again to attempt to restructure it. Sunday, March 9'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced that the long-awaited critical chance fix for MAs in PvP is scheduled for the next patch! More details on it to come as the patch hits the test server.
  • Talked about FotD quite a bit. We restructured FotD after assembly Sunday to match the governing form of The Dojo. When this happened, everyone was demoted to applicant status. Because of this, everyone needs to find a FotD recruiter in the near future to be promoted to your appropriate rank - Unit Members in The Dojo are Unit Members in FotD, past council members and House Gassho members are Unit Commanders, and current council members are Generals. Remember to include your alt in FotD all you need to do is become a full member and ask :) We also discussed using org banks for FotD, and stated that at this time the armor banks will be available for FotD use as well. Additionally, if anyone active in FotD would like to start a profession-specific bank for the others, please post your desires in the FotD forum and we will work on creating those banks.
  • Tabataia held a drawing for 3 NCU rings that Kardiz left for the org, and the lucky winners were Ascorpion, Katjaka, and Tabataia! Grats to those three!
  • Kinetko held the drawing for the yalm giveaway, and because 2 people only signed up last assembly and were present this week, both were awarded the prize! Grats to Ichidaan and Thaylia on their new Yalms! Remember if you would like to sign up for the next drawing, you must attend the next assembly and hold full membership in the org.

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Sunday, March 2'nd

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Held our monthly council elections - Magellun, Timia, Punkmuffin, and Scythewind were all re-elected!
  • Magellun reviewed our policies regarding Tower Battles. Basically all our members are free to particpate in the Notum Wars action, just as long as they keep the rest of the organization advised as to what they are doing. Also, everyone who attacks another tower should keep in mind how doing so brings the protection on our own tower fields down.
  • Nesual warned the org about travelling into territories where there are clan towers at 25% gas range. Moral of the story is that towers themselves can be a bit aggressive - you do not have to engage a tower, it can attack you on its own!
  • Kinetko gathered the names for next week's yalm giveaway. Remember if you signed up, you must attend the next assembly to remain eligible.

Thanks all for attending, and a special thanks to Neurobatica for moderating the last half of the assembly for me! Just a note here - next Sunday we will be focusing on FotD items, and also may restructure the governing form for it, so if you are involved in FotD, make sure and attend! You can see the log here.

A few links here to get you started - How to become a tester here and the test server forum with lots of important rooted posts about the new system here. And also remember once you are on test to "/tell testlivebot help" to learn about the online tracking system and set your character up for tracking!
  • Held the drawing for the 4% IQ ring, and Wingto was the lucky winner! Grats and thanks to Wingto, fo he passed on his 2% ring that we will draw for next Sunday!
  • Munkeezon announced the posting of the Dojo Race of D00m pics on her website found here. Be sure to check them out!

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Sunday, February 9'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Informed everyone about Magellien losing control of his AO account. Until he is able to regain it, his char is removed from The Dojo as a preventative measure considering his rank in the org and the power it holds.
  • Announced the installment of new FotD org contracts! Three contracts were purchased and installed, covering all 6 nano skills. You can check which org contracts are running at any time by typing /org contract - it even shows you how much skill you receive at your level! Thanks to the alts of Munkeezon and Neurobatica for setting this up!
  • Munkeezon reviewed the results of the Dojo Race of D00m held last Sunday - see log for details. If you have an event you would like to propose/run for the org please post it in our "Events" forum!
  • Kinetko outlined the procedure for obtaining the new MA attacks from the Temple of the Three Winds Dungeon, as well as displayed quite a few other nice items that can be found there. The dungeon is open for anyone below the level of 60, so if you have not already, I strongly encourage you to check it out!
  • Kinetko then held his Yalm drawing, and Cyndael was the lucky winner! Congrats to her, and remember the sign-up for the next drawing will be held at the next assembly. Also, a drawing for a 4% IQ ring will be held at next week's assembly as well. To sign up for this you must be a full member as usual, and post your entry here sometime during the week.

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Site Update - Omni Tarasque Meeting Log

Today I have added to our website the log of the Tarasque talk I moderated Sunday evening. The primary purpose of this meeting was to come into agreement on a method of handling the looting system when Omni raids Tara in the future. After a brief 4 hour chat, we voted almost split (5-4) on 2 systems that were very much similar, instilling me with an overall hope for cooperation in the future. You can read the log here if you wish (i warn you, it is long and tedious), or if logs are not up your alley you can wait a day or two until the official rules of the system are drafted, as I will be poting those on the site as well.

Sunday, February 2'nd

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Held our monthly council elections - Munkeezon and Refflection were re-elected, Lovegod was elected to another term after about a year's hiatus, and Kinetko was elected to his first term!
  • Thanked Neuro for her recent handling of the Presidential duties while I was out-of-pocket during my move. Everything went flawlessly as expected while she held office, and it is certainly wonderful to have a member such as Neuro to trust unquestionably with such a task!
  • Neuro then offered 2 bits of info - First that Deng, now-former leader of Inner Circle, left Rimor this week to persue RL interests. He left a very nice goodbye for The Dojo on the FC MA profession board here. Deng was a wonderful person, and we will miss him greatly. Secondly, Neuro stated that while Maliphecent is battling illness and unable to be with us, control of FotD will be held by Neuro's alt Fijo, passed over by Mali's alt Jennykitty earlier this week. Council is finalizing FotD policy atm, but for now no rules shall change with this new leadership. Neuro is able to purchase and place org advantages for FotD now however, so if you are active in FotD pls share your imput on these with her.
  • Munkeezon talked about her "Dojo Footrace of D00m event, which was held successfully after the assembly. More details on how the race went, along with a few pictures hopefully too, will be added to the website in the coming days. Also, pls hold off on sending me screenshots right now - I am currently changing e-mail addresses and will inform everyone when the new address is functional.
  • Munkeezon also recently posted the House Kempo charter for review in our General Forum. Pls head here and post your comments on it if you have not done so already!
  • Kinetko gathered names for next week's Yalm drawing. Remember, if you entered the drawing, you MUST be present at the next assembly in order to still be eligible. Also, next week at assembly we hope to have a drawing for an IQ ring, open to all members. More info and sign-up for that TBA on the general forum later this week.

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Site Update - "The Links" section revived!

Today I have updated our The Links section of the org website with everything I could think of that I use on a regular basis and feel could be of benefit to our members. If you think of a website or know of a link that you consider important enough to be included, feel free to send the link to me via e-mail and I will work on getting it added!

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Reminded everyone of the formation of House Kempo (PvP/Towers). If you are interested in joining this house to help in our tower wars, please contact Munkeezon or Magellien in-game soon.
  • Mentioned the recent interest in the org with bows as a PvP option. For those who would like info on how our recent experiments into archery have fared, pls read up in this link here.
  • Maliphecent announced the date for her PJ Party - January 26'th! We eagerly await that day, and are so excited to have Mali back with us after her recent "technical difficulties" :)
  • Munkeezon talked about her latest project - Mapping the dynacamps on Rubi-Ka! She has quite task ahead of her, but is out to a great start with her new site. Be sure and visit it here, and look for future Dojo team expeditions out into the wilds to take on these Dynacamps!

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Sunday, January 5'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Elected five new council members! Magellien and Timia were re-elected, Punkmuffin was elected to another council term, and Scythewind was elected to his first council term! Also filling the 1-month vacated term of Tubarolean will be Fantomen! Congrats to them all!
  • Held a nice long discussion about how our org should approach the tower battles. We resolved that looking for a ql50 land area would probably complement our current holdings well, and is on the to-do list. Also we discussed The Dojo's standing policy of not enforcing a particular playstyle upon its members - meaning in the case of participating in tower attacks and rushing to defend our towers, eventhough it might be encouraged in certain instances, it will never be mandatory. We also explained the protection specifics for our towers. Basically as long as one of our members does not attack another tower, our own towers retain the protection gas level (which will still drop protection on a regular timer), so defending fellow Omni towers has no ill effects for us. For the moment however if you intend to attack another tower pls relay your plans to the org before proceeding, and be willing to possibly re-consider your intentions for the good of the org. Most importantly from the discussion were the beginning steps of forming House Kempo for all our PvP and NW organizational plans. If you know you would like to devote time in the future to tower battles and defense, pls contact either Munkeezon or Magellien via in-game /tell soon to "sign-up" for House Kempo. We will be activating the forum for the house in the near future, in addition to deciding upon policies and leadership.
  • To conclude the meeting I announced the winner of the Yalm drawing, the only one who signed up two weeks ago, Bloodwalker! Congrats to her! I will go ahead and state here that the council is re-considering the giveaways because of lack of interest lately. They may be continued for a while, stopped completely, or altered into somthing else, who knows. Council will be discussing these options in the coming weeks.

Thanks all for attending, we formed a very nice circle this day! ;) You can see the log here.

Important Assembly - 1/5/03 - Pls Plan to Attend!

First let me wish everyone a Happy New Year! Hope it was a safe and joyous event for all. Now to the matters at hand. . . This coming Sunday we will have a very important Assembly. First we will have our Council elections, which are for 5 seats total now with the departure of Tubarolean. If you wish to run for a seat, you must hold a Unit Member or better rank, and it would be best if you post your intention to run along with any campaign materials here. Everyone in attendance also with Unit Member or better rank is allowed to vote. Secondly, we will hold a serious discussion on official positions and future actions The Dojo will take regarding Tower Battles, etc. Our last tower was destroyed on New Years Eve, so if we wish to build others we will need to organize and make plans for war! My immediate plan is that we will activate House Kempo (Defense) and everyone interested in participating in tower battles will join it. Obviously anyone who has feelings about the tower situation, esp. those who would like to place towers, should attend Sunday. I am hoping for a large turnout anyway, as these are both matters that will have immediate effects on our org. See you at the Assembly!

Sunday, December 22'nd

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Recognized Neurobatica for becoming the first lvl 200 in The Dojo! Congrats to her, and here's hoping for many more in the future!
  • Announced the promotion of Emosion to Unit Commander (Veteran status) due to her long record of service to the org. Well done Emo!
  • Talked briefly about the departure of Tubarolean from AO. His kind spirit will certainly be missed. For now, the yalm drawing he organized will be handled by the council and myself. We gathered names this Sunday, so the next meeting will be the drawing.
  • Scythewind presented his present to the org - several bags full of Morphing Memory and Vagabond Cloaks! These will be distributed throughout the org in the coming weeks by Scythe and myself, and we certainly thank him for his kind donation!
  • Discussed the possibility of moving our org HQ from HR3 due to increased traffic from the grid move. While there are more "visitors" these days, there has not really been a great enough disturbance to warrant a change yet. We will of course consider this again if matters worsen.

Thanks all for attending! Due to the holiday season, we will not have an assembly meeting on Sunday December 29'th. The next assembly will be on January 5'th, at which time we will hold council elections again. You can see the log of this assembly here.

Sunday, December 15'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced the further delay of the Maliphecent's PJ Party due to her technical difficulties.
  • Reminded everyone that Chowchuckfoo and Chowchuckwoo will be married December 22'nd, 2pm PST (after assembly). Location is still being decided, but I'm sure we will have a great turnout no matter where it is to be a part of their special day! Reception will be held afterwards at the Reet Retreat glass floor room, so dust off those boogy shoes as well!
  • Congratulated Tabledancerr on winning the Best Dressed Female award at the Project EDEN Christmas Party held this past Saturday night! Several Dojo were in attendance, and we had a great time.
  • Tubarolean announced his "hibernation" while persuing goals with his alt Evilborn. His yalm raffles held at assemblies that he preserved from Ataviel's initiation will now be held by me, but will still be funded partly by Tubs and partly by other generous council members. We certainly thank Tubarolean for all his generocity and hard work and look forward to the day of his awakening!
  • And on that note, the winner of the Yalm drawing this week was Dafatma! Congrats to him, and remember that signup for the next drawing for all unit-members will be held at the next assembly!

Thanks all for attending - We were looking rather nice today with the addition of the new mentor hats :) You can see the log here.

Various News Items on Notum Wars, etc.

First I would like to say how proud I am of everyone who has taken part in the various tower battles during the past couple weeks! We are certainly making a big splash in the mass PvP scene - despite being quite gimped in that area atm! At the present, we have established 3 control towers on Rimor, ql's 100, 50, and 10. Because of this, our members are able to place personal towers around the controllers for personal bonuses, and I, having recently received my NW copy, have established our first org advantages, which add stat bonuses for everyone with NW in the org. More info on our advantages and how they work may be found in my recent post here. Also, I created a new forum just for Notum Wars talk in the main "The Dojo" section. This forum is password protected to keep our plans and such private, so if you want to participate you must give me a /tell in game requesting the password.

On a somewhat similar note, the president of OTMA Myrabai has invited our org to a party at Baboons on Friday 13'th, 9:30pm Eastern (US). This is an attempt to bring many of the omni guilds who are allied in the Notum Wars together in an effort to allow everyone the chance to get to know your inter-org friends. I hope we can have a good turnout for this!

Sunday, December 8'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced the delay of the Maliphecent's PJ Party due to technical difficulties. The event is tenatively set now for after the assembly next Sunday the 15'th, though it may have to be postponed futher still.
  • Chowchuckfoo and Chowchuckwoo announced the date for their coming marriage - December 22'nd, 2pm PST (after assembly). Location is still being decided, but I'm sure we will have a great turnout no matter where it is to be a part of their special day! Reception will be held afterwards at the Reet Retreat glass floor room, so dust off those boogy shoes as well!
  • Informed everyone of the FotD discussions taking place in The Council lately. Expect to hear updates on the workings of our sister org in the near future!
  • Discussed various Notum Wars issues for a while. Some good info there in the log, and I also recommend a thread started by Munkeezon in the general forum with links to various NW info that can be found here.

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Sunday, December 1'st

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced the introduction of a new rank in our org hierarchy - Vice President. This position was discussed and voted upon by the council, and the first VP was chosen and agreed upon as well. Congrats to Neurobatica in becoming the first Vice President of The Dojo! For more info on what a VP does, please see the description in the assembly log.
  • Elected four new council members! Neurobatica now holds a static seat, bringing the total number of council members to 9 now. Maliphecent, Tubarolean, and Munkeezon were re-elected, and Refflection was elected to her first term!
  • Maliphecent announced the time and location of her long-awaited PJ Party - Omni-Ent Arena, December 8'th after the assembly. Good luck to all participants!
  • Tubarolean held his bi-monthly yalm drawing, and Tanstallion2 was the winner! Be sure and come to assembly next week if you are yalm-less and a full member of the org and sign up for the next drawing!
  • Gave a shout-out to Punkmuffin for doing such a great job with our chat bot, which now links the org chat of The Dojo and Friends of the Dojo together! Nice work Punk, and we look forward to utilizing both the bot and FotD even more in the future!

Thanks all for attending, and a special thanks to Neurobatica for handling the assembly last week while I was on the road. You can see the log here.

Dojo Anniversary Party!

It was a great time this past Sunday as well held our first-ever party outdoors to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of our wonderful org, as well as reaching the 400 member mark! The Galway pool house made for an interesting location as the partygoers had their choice of dancing on the veranda, taking a dip in the pool, or just general mingling on the roof. We had a nice turnout from the org, and it was especially great to see our former sensei Nikh back on Rubi-Ka again! Due to lack of participants, we did not hold the couples dancing competition, but we were treated to a wonderful performance by Neurobatica and Maliphecent (see pics). Thanks to everyone that helped us celebrate, and we will see you all next Sunday for your regularly-scheduled Assembly!

Sunday, November 10'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Mentioned the change in the applicant promotion policy - pls see the log or the rules on "The Dojo" page of the website to see the changes.
  • The Anniversary Party in Galway Castle is set! November 17'th - 3pm Eastern US (during our usual assembly time). Please see the thread in the events forum, or visit the RK2 events calendar here for the details. All friends of Dojo members are invited. There will be as the feature event a couples dancing contest as well, so if you would like to enter, pls let me know in game via a /tell and be practicing on your routine!
  • Maliphecent advised everyone that the sign-up for her pajama party tourneyment will end on Wednesday, Sept. 13'th. Please visit the thread and sign up now if you want to participate - there will be no late entries!
  • Mali also informed us that she will hopefully gain the leadership position of our guild for alts - Friends of the Dojo - from our previous sensei Nikh soon. Once accomplished, we hope to turn FotD into a much more active org - so stay tuned for news there!
  • I informed everyone that the /org bank is working once again since 14.6. If you would like to donate credits to the org in the future, simply type /org bank add 10 - to add 10 credits, or replace with your desired amount. :)

Thanks all for attending, and a special thanks to Neurobatica for handling the assembly while my ISP was finally being repaired! You can see the log here, and remember, no assembly next week b/c of the party!

Thursday, November 7'th

Various Announcements

Several things I thought i might point out today:

  • Patch 14.6 hit the live servers yesterday with many of the bugs that we test server ppl had warned about still active. The emergency server patch today has fixed a few today, and a proposed client patch tomorrow will hopefully take care of others. However, one large bug still in has to do with pulling bags out of the bank that contain unique items, only to have the whole bag poof on you :( I'm not sure exactly of all the stipulations for when this bug happens, but for now you may want to leave bags in the bank until FC announces this bug is fixed. For the complete 14.6 patch notes, click here. Also of note are the facts that the change to how weapon initiatives are lowered did not make it in the patch, and how everyone's chances of scoring a critical hit in PvP are now halved.
  • Gaute has released a new article on population control features that will probably be implemented with the Notum Wars booster pack. Basically it will involve locking players out, and even pushing players out of areas that are too populated during battles and such. You can view the article here.
  • Updated the pics section with a scan of the page about our org in the Massive Online Gaming mag, as well as a few shots of the pumpkinheads from the Halloween event. Thx to Scythewind for the mag scan and one of the pumpkin pics!

Sunday, November 3'rd

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Elected four new council members - Teekee, Magellien, Akidoe, and Timia - congrats to them all!
  • Mentioned the pumpkinhead hunting event on halloween night - pics of the action coming soon to the website!
  • Announced the location of the upcoming anniversary party - the Galway pool party house! More details about the party are being formed in the thread in the events forum as we speak. Also, you may begin to invite friends to the party if you like - again, see the thread for all the details thusfar.
  • Magellien announced the opening of an NCU bank for the org. If you have old NCU not in use, be sure and pass them along to him!
  • Khyristiana announced an upcoming event involving another org to work on the first part of the Alvin static mission. If you are interested in joining in, pls see her thread on the matter now stickied on the events forum.

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Sunday, October 27'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Reminded everyone of the upcoming Council elections at next week's assembly - the tenures of Flupper, Syndah, Maraskye, and Skitzomantis will come to an end at that time. All four of them will not be running again, so all slots are open to new candidates! If you would like to run (and have full member status) please post your campaign wishes in the Assembly Forum. Also be sure to read Neuro's article on what being a Council member means to make sure you are willing to accept the position.
  • Mentioned our recent publicity - The FC screenshot ccontest victory and an article about the org published in the premier issue of a new gaming mag titled "Massive Online Gaming." For more info on the latter, pls visit the thread created by the author of the article here.
  • Spoke a bit about the PvP house forming troubles, and suggested a new outlook on its functionality based around the upcoming booster pack and the land control features it will bring. I encourage anyone who would be interested in dedicating some time toward planning defenses for our future lands to continue discussing PvP and the like in our forums.
  • Announced the date for our 1 year org anniversary party (11/17) and asked for suggestions on where to hold it (we will try an outdoor setting this time). Pls submit your suggestions/comments in the thread here.
  • Neurobatica spoke on alliances and public behavior as it pertains to the org. I suggest a reading of her thoughts in the log, and promote her idea of getting to know our inter-org friends in MI-R2 and Omni-Tek Medical Academy if you have the chance.
  • Tubarolean held his drawing for the IQ Ring giveaway, and Gorbax was the lucky winner! Grats to Grobax, and grats also to Tubs for a wonderful and generous idea and effort!

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Dojo Wins Best Parade in FC Screenshot Competition!!

The results are in, and it seems our weekly exercises in circle-forming have paid off!! The screenshot (taken by Flupper) I submitted as our entry of our circle we worked so hard to make perfect at an assembly several weeks ago has won for "Best (Org) Parade." There turned out to be only 4 of the categories that had announced winners from the original list, and only 1'st place awards were handed out, so we are most fortunate indeed to be included! The overall winner was a flash movie/advertisement that is quite wonderful indeed. To check out the official results news story please click here. The actual prize has yet to be announced, but i will share it with you as soon as they contact me with the info. :)

Thanks to everyone who had the patience to see this project through, and to those who journey to attend our weekly assemblies that made this idea feasible in the first place!

Sunday, October 20'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced that 14.6 is now on the test server, and my reports will be made every now and then on our test server forum. If you would like to check out the changes, you as a low-lvl character can actually help test 2 major new features - the new character creation system and the new lowbie dungeon, which only players under lvl 20 can enter! To get on test, simply follow the directions on how to become a tester on the main FC site, and be sure to drop me a line if you see me around :)
  • Maliphecent spoke again of the sign-up thread in the event forum for her slumber party event If you are interested, pls visit that thread (comon ppl, this is going to be great!). Also pls check the other threads in that forum and comment on what ideas for events sound good, and even add some of your own if you would like :) I will be adding the Dojo 1 year anniversary party thread there soon as well, so keep your eyes open for that!
  • Rubykah announced that her in-game sis Drella (a 170ish Doctor) is available for general doctor-type duties, as well as teaming with some of our great elite Dojo teams I'm sure ;)

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log here.

Sunday, October 13'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Announced that all org banks (the in-game credit deposits) are closed again due to another exploit being found. Save those generous donations for some other time!
  • Maliphecent spoke of the sign-up thread in the event forum for her slumber party event. If you are interested, pls visit that thread soon so Mali will know just how to plan things.
  • Tabataia wanted me to wish everyone a fond farewell for her as she has left AO, though i wasn't quite able to during the meeting due to ISP issues :/ Zyphrix now holds the claw bank in her place. And just a reminder about our other banks - I hold the parry stick, implant, and organic suit banks - Kamius, Vonture, and Lovegod have the various types of armor banks, and Nimith has the bow bank. Pls donate items not needed in these categories to the proper person if you can :)

Thanks all for attending, and i apologise for my LD status (tho i enjoyed the LotR references in the log!) You can see the log here.

Sunday, October 6'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Elected four Council members! Neurobatica and Munkeezon were re-elected, and Maliphecent and Tubarolean were elected to their first terms. Congrats to them all!
  • Spoke to those interested about atempting to form the PvP house, and several have taken initiative on the forums this week organizing things. Perhaps at the next assembly we can officially introduce it into the function house family!
  • Several personal announcements - Ojsan declared he would be leaving AO soon - we all wish him luck in the future and shall truly miss that pre-assembly chicken dance! :) On the other end of the spectrum, Maraskye announced the return of Kashuya back to the org (one of our founding members!) and Hokutoryuken revealed that he is indeed the reincarnation of Lethalfire! Great to have these veteran members back with us!
  • At the end of assembly Ataviel held his yalm drawing, and Bobbykorven was the lucky winner! Congrtas to him and to Ataviel for a successful first drawing, and remember ppl, the sign up for the next one will be at the assembly this coming Sunday!

Thanks all for attending, the election went very well, and we had many great candidates running! You can see the log here.

Sunday, September 29'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Reminded everyone of the council elections to be held next Sunday at assembly. The mandates of Ojsan, Munkeezon, Punkmuffin and Neurobatica will come to an end at this point. Everyone with a org position of "unit member" or better is able to run/vote in the election, and council members whose terms are ending may re-run. All this week you may discuss the elections in the Assembly discussion forum or online in org chat, as well as campaign for positions in the official campaign thread. I hope to see a good turnout for the elections this coming weekend!
  • Ataviel discussed the details of his Yalm Giveaway drawing. Basically these revolve around assembly attendance, the only other requirement being that you must have unit member or better status. The sign up was this Sunday, so during the next assembly we will hold the drawing and declare the winner, then the following Sunday collect names again. A big thanks to Ataviel for creating and funding this great system!
  • Announced the promotion of Kihmarie and Maliphecent to Unit Commander status as they begin their training in the Recruitment House. Congrats to them both, and best of luck in your new tour of duty within the org!
  • Maliphecent then announced her plans to hold a "Dojo Slumber Party" event (mass pillow fight in the arena!). More details coming soon on this interesting and sure-to-be exciting event!
  • Discussed some recent bans to players outside the org due to use of exploits, specifically Powerleveling techniques. Again, use of any exploit found or known by players in the game could result in punishment by FC, so they should be handled with the greatest of care. If you find an exploit, report it directly to FC and then forget about it - do not tell anyone else, even if trying to confirm it. And for now, consider any method you find to help level another player who is typically too low for you to level with an exploit.

Thanks all for attending, yet another great meeting! You can see the log here.

Sunday, September 22'nd

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Only main topic was on the way we in The Dojo view acts of kindness (charity if you will), and how best to avoid turning it into a policy of "required service." I presented the founding policy of the org - voluntary service to your fellow members with no expectations of returned favors. This policy creates IMO the most unique and wonderful attribute of The Dojo - the friendly, generous atmosphere in which we all can grow and enjoy our playing time. Once we step past the bounds of this policy, problems can arise, especially in the realm of "quid pro quo" mindsets. We must always be prepared to know when not to ask too much of our fellow members. Neurobatica then added to the conversation with her experiences with our policies, mainly as they relate to our higher level players and the workload that can be asked of them. Most of what she stated is also mentioned in her essay "Way of the Peaceful Warrior," which i invite everyone to read here. I also would like to ask everyone who did not attend this meeting to review the log for the full discourse on this topic, so that we all have a chance to reflect upon one of the most vital aspects (and assets!) of our org.

Thanks all for attending! (the circle looked great today!) You can see the log of the assembly here.

Sunday, September 15'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Spoke on the weekly assemblies a bit. Basically I just stressed the importance of being on time, as many ppl take time out each Sunday to show up for about an hour, and we do them a dis-service by starting late then spilling over into the next hour when they can not stay around. On the same topic, we agreed to keep the color-coordinated circle as the meeting standard, even though it might be a bit of a hassle ;)
  • Zyphrix and Nakyama announced their engagement! Wedding details still TBD :)
  • Fistofghod mentioned his desire to begin work in our Intelligence house, which has been farily dormant. I would really like to see ppl taking part in this house and perhaps publishing "guides" or "reports" every now and then for the dojo community? I'll begin a thread soon in the general forum and collect the names of those who would like to contribute.
  • Maliphecent commented on org participation in org-planned events. Again this seems to be greatly dependant upon use of our forums. If you are interested in starting and/or planning an event, pls make use of our general and event forums. At the same time, do not be shy in stating your plans in the org chat channel every now and then when you are online.

Thanks all for attending! You can see the log of the assembly here.

Sunday, September 8'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Spent about 30 mins working on our circle for the FC screenshot contest. I will send in the best pic, and will also post it on the website when i make the decision.
  • Congratulated Ataviel for his promotion to veteran status "Unit Commander" earlier in the week, and also on his inclusion in the recruitment house now. Thx Ataviel for all your hard work and dedication toward The Dojo!
  • Sssin mentioned his desires to help begin our PvP house. If you are interested in PvP and would like to organize strategies/practice sessions/etc., please contact Sssin.
  • Munkeezon announced that her AO item tailor now has a home website :) Make sure and visit if you are interested in using this new tool.
  • Akidoe mentioned her continuing efforts in gathering interested individuals to create a "helper" house to lend aid to our fellow omni citizens. Please see the general forum for her ideas on this, and sign up if you are interested.
  • Finally Maleene announced her engagement to Ojsan, quite a pleasant surprise indeed! Details on wedding date, etc. are still in the works.

Thanks all for attending and for your patience during the circle forming :/ Hopefully the end result will be a great showing by The Dojo in the screenshot competition! You can see the log of the assembly here.

Sunday, September 1'st

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Elected four Council members! Flupper, Syndah, and Maraskye were re-elected, and Skitzomatis was elected to his first term as well. Congrats to them all!
  • Wished Tubarolean luck in his marriage to Kintaria, which was held in Rome Park this past Saturday. It was a lovely service, and we had a great turnout of Dojo members in attendance. Pictures to come soon (remember to send them in to me ppl!)
  • Flupper announced the instructions for joining the Tarasque Omni raids if you are a high lvl (see log for details). Also we discussed once again organizing events for either hunting during the week or maybe something a little different. If you want to try and organize an event, pls post your ideas/instructions in the event forum to get things started.

A couple notes from this past Sunday now. We began discussing ideas for the FC screenshot contest during the meeting (perhaps the meeting itself will be the substance for our pic?) Pls see the thread in the general forum if you have any other ideas on what would make a great Dojo picture. Also I reported during the meeting that the next patch will hit live this Wednesday, but on Monday FC pushed back the date another week, so now it will be released on 9/11. Thanks all for attending, the election went well, and we had many great candidates running! You can see the log here.

Sunday, August 25'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Reminded everyone of the council elections to be held next Sunday at assembly. The mandates of Flupper, Syndah, Maraskye, and Vonture will come to an end at this point. Everyone with a org position of "unit member" or better is able to run/vote in the election, and council members whose terms are ending may re-run. All this week you may discuss the elections in the Assembly discussion forum or online in org chat, as well as campaign for positions. I hope to see a good turnout for the elections this coming weekend!
  • Spoke a while about proper use of the org chat channel, aided by the input of several council members. Basically as we continue to grow we must be aware of our combined behavior on the org channel so that no one feels compelled to turn it off, and thus becomes cut off from the community. Many good suggestions were made, and I encourage everyone not at the meeting to read through the log, and also refamiliarize yourself the org channel rules in the "The Dojo" section of our website.
  • Had another discussion about claws and if they are worth using/working correctly. Again, some good info in the log, but also feel free to read up on the FAQ i posted in the FC MA board here.
  • Munkeezon announced the beta version of a tool she is creating to help determine the proper ql of items you are able to use based on your skills. She said it was only going to be posted for download for a short while, so if you are interested in help test it, you may need to contact her in-game. Keep up the good work Munk, and we can't wait for the finished product!
  • Nimith announced that she will be starting a bow bank, so see her for your donations! Also Tabataia has returned, so she will once again be in charge of the claw bank. *Does a little dance at the sight of room in inventory*

Thanks all for attending, yet another great meeting! You can see the log here.

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday (in record time i believe!) - here are the highlights:

  • Announced the passing of leadership of House Gassho (recruitments) from Flupper to Neurobatica. This was basically Flupper's choice, and she will still remain in Gassho to help recruit, but will not be as active in the house as before. Also we promoted Zyphrix to recruiter status as he now joins House Gassho! Thx to both Neuro and Zyphrix for accepting an increased role in the org!
  • Mentioned the upcoming patch 14.5 estimated to hit live on August 28'th. This patch is going to add A LOT of outdoor content, so be ready to explore Rubi-Ka more in the future!
  • Announced that I will handle the claw bank for the next week or so as Tabataia will be away.
  • Finally I mentioned the plans for a Dojo PvP Tourney started by Jaaskidaan. The tourney will begin next sunday after the assembly. Everyone interested can check out the threads on the rules in the events forum, as well as sign up in the appropriate thread.

Thanks to all who attended! You can see the log here

Dojo Dance Party a huge success!

Our third Dojo Dance Party was held this past Sunday in celebration of the org reaching the 300 member mark. By opening this party up to all Omni and moving to Reet Retreat, the party transformed into a mammoth event! And as many people will tell you who experienced it, we actually filled up Reet Retreat, so at one point 2 parties were taking place at the same time! The party was attended by many friends of the org, including members of MI-R2, Total Chaos, Inner Circle, and many more. The couples dance competition was the special event of the night, with several great routines presented that made judging rather difficult. The prizes were awarded as follows:

  • 1st place and 3 million credits - Deng & Cyberbob
  • 2nd place and 2 million credits - Ghefi & Malindria
  • 3rd place and 1 million credits - Heli & Boogiebum

Many thx to all who came! A special thanks as well to all who helped with the party - the judges Syndah, Maraskye, and our special guest judge Vikie - Flupper, Ojsan, and Emosion for donating the prize money - and my favorite Bug Hunter Liaker who graced us with his presence and also brought along an entire troop of ARK-cats!

Here are the pics from the party (more to come as they are submitted to me, send them in ppl!):

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Elected four Council members! Neurobatica, Ojsan and Punkmuffin were re-elected, and Munkeezon was elected to her first term as well. Congrats to them all!
  • Informed everyone of the updates/edits to the org rules section of the website ("The Dojo" page). I encourage everyone to read through them again, and post any questions/comments you have in the general forum. Also, it is now required of all new recruits to thoroughly read this section, so it is best that we all are familiar with it.
  • Announced the 3'rd installment of The Dojo Dance Party! Details as we have them so far can be found here. Also we will hold this at the normal time of our assemblies, so no meeting next week! This will be an Omni-wide event, so be sure and invite your friends from outside the org!
  • Brucilee brought up the topic of the need for more events and greater participation from the org in the events that exist currently. Quite the heated debate, so i'll just refer you to the assembly log for what was said. Basically I would love to see more interest in events, but i'm afraid it requires the dedication of many ppl to get things rolling. If you would like to see something happen, you often have to try and organize it yourself. To this end, I will be happy to support any efforts made by our members as best I can!

Thanks all for attending, i think we had a record number this time (at least 40!) You can see the log here. And remember, no assembly next Sunday! (8/11)

Info on Credit Exploit

FC has posted a news article explaining the recent credit exploit and the reason why org banks are no longer functioning. Here is a repost of what was said:

Credit Exploit by Customer Services Department - Fri, 02 Aug, 2002 - On Wednesday (31.07.02), a rather nasty exploit involving in-game credits was found and disabled. However, we were saddened to discover that this exploit was very actively used by many organisation leaders to produce massive amounts of credits within the game. We are now in the process of cleaning up the world of these credits. We know who did it, we know how they did it, and we know when they did it. According to paragraph 11 of the Rules of Conduct : "You will not exploit any bug in Anarchy and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits in game for a character of their profession and level), either directly or through public posting, to any other user of Anarchy. You will promptly report any such bug via the exploits@anarchy-online.com email address." There are unfortunately many cases where organisation leaders have failed to report this exploit. We are currently discussing - and looking at - what we want to do with the characters involved. Many of them will get banned and in some cases, entire organisations will be disbanded. We strongly advise all organisation leaders who knowingly used the exploit to come forward through /petition and try to come to an agreement with a GM. Also, any player who suspects they may have received exploited credits should notify a GM so that these funds can be handed over... no questions asked. Those who received large sums of credits and fail to disclose this information risk having their accounts banned. We are not looking to punish people who innocently received credits (within reasonable limits) from these players, but we will consider banning players who knew they were accepting exploited credits. Players should refrain from passing exploited credits along to other players as that will increase the likelihood of the account being banned and could jeopardise the recipient's account as well. Purchasing items from other players or vendors with known exploited credits will result in the offending account being banned. We have already begun the process of tracking the credits as they've progressed from character to character. We have also started banning some accounts, and we will continue to do so. Players with banned accounts will be notified by mail with this work continuing through the weekend and into next week. Funcom would like to thank all players who consistently play Anarchy Online without cheating through exploits. We will continue to take action as we have in this case to ensure that the game will remain fun and fair for everyone.

Just to put your minds at ease, I'd like to state that I neither used this exploit nor was even aware of its existance prior to FC taking this action on Wednesday, so our org is certainly safe from any sort of disciplinary action. Exploits are a very serious matter, and this one in particular shows how just one could possibly ruin the balance of the entire game. If anyone encounters a possible exploit in the future, do as the message says and immediately e-mail it in. Do not tell anyone else, even me or an ARK/GM via petition about it, as there are a limited number of ARKs/GMs that are designated handle such matters. Also we will probably add a section in our org rules soon about exploits after this matter is discussed in the next council meeting.

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Reminded everyone of the council elections to be held next Sunday at assembly. The mandates of Ojsan, Striken7, Punkmuffin and Neurobatica will come to an end at this point.
  • Again mentioned the creation of the member pics forum. If you would like to add yours, send it to me via e-mail (Chronita@hot.rr.com).
  • Discussed The Dojo's position on what our overall stance toward OT should be. Many good points were raised, such as the lack of the actual ability to do much in our own territory. Pls feel free to add further comment to this matter in the forums this week, and we will perhaps institute an /org vote on the matter in the near future. Also I outlined our new policy on griefing, which will basically mirror what FC enforces. This will soon be included in our org info section, along with an updated statement on begging both in and outside the org.
  • Finally at the very end of assembly Vonture announced her engagement to Samuraiboy! Looks like another Dojo wedding is in the works, stay tuned for future details!

Thanks all for attending, we had a very nice turnout! You can see the log here. Also I am including the intro for Xillion here at his request due to EZBoard difficulties. If anyone else is unable to post their intro feel free to send it to me in the form of a .txt file.

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held a shortened assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Postponed the Foreman's (The Longest Road) dungeon raid. It will now take place after the assembly on Sunday, July 28'th.
  • Announced the creation of the member pics forum. If you would like to add yours, send it to me via e-mail (Chronita@hot.rr.com).
  • Briefly discussed The Dojo's stance on killing OT guards, and what perhaps our overall stance toward OT should be. Pls feel free to add your thoughts to this matter in the forums this week, and we will discuss further/vote on it at the next assembly.
  • Announced the plan to kick all applicants lvl 14 and under that have not been active in the org for several months. This was done Sunday evening, and was agreed upon before hand by the council members and myself. Around 20 ppl were kicked, with an open invitation to return if they become active again.

Thanks all for attending, we had a very nice turnout! You can see the log here.

Scavenger Hunt Recap

The Scavenger Hunt designed and run internally by members of The Dojo for all Omni citizens was held July 14'th. While the total number of participants gathering for the challenge was a bit small, those who took part seemed to enjoy the event, and we had several winners who completed all the riddles, and thusly earned some fabulous cash prizes! The winners were as follows:

  • Level 100+ category and Overall winners: Team of MI-R2 members - Nitlit, Ryshon, & Sinchase
  • Under Level 50 category and Second Overall winner: Metaliya
  • Third Overall winners: Dojo Team of Maleene, Munkeezon, and Senseidamien
  • Level 50-100 category winners: Dojo team of Bullbarrell, RaptorMA, and Tabatai

Thanks to all who participated, and a special thanks to Timia, Traineeer, Punkmuffin, Kamius, Syndah, Neurobatica, and Maraskye for helping run the event!

A few pics for your viewing pleasure-

  • Beginning the Hunt here.
  • Punkmuffin greeting the hunters in HR3 here.
  • Maraskye playing my out-of-control sister Chiqita here.
  • Me congratulating the speedy MI-R2 overall winners here.
  • A few of us relaxing after the hunt came to an end here.

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Elected four Council members! Flupper and Vonture were re-elected, and Syndah and Maraskye were elected as well. Congrats to them all!
  • Informed everyone of the org bank refund I implemented Friday night. Everyone who has been in The Dojo since Friday night should have received 100 credits when they first logged on since then. This action was taken partly as a test, but also to compensate for the faulty taxing that occured when the 14.2 patch hit the live servers.
  • Discussed the reasoning behind my decision to kick one of our applicants, and reviewed The Dojo's "open door policy" concerning improper behavior. For more details, see the meeting log.
  • Announced that I am ready to begin work on the RL picture forum, so if you have any pics you want to send in, pls do so using the SS submittal link on the main page.
  • Announced that the Scavenger Hunt will take place next Sunday, and we will not have a meeting that day. Pls read up on the event in our general forum and/or the AO player event calendar and spread the word to all your in-game Omni friends! It should be a lot of fun, and we are hoping for a great turnout.
  • Syndah brought up the possiblity of the org helping out members who have been wronged in some way (game bug, etc.). Had a good discussion on this topic, and for now we will continue it in the forums.

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here. And remember, no assembly next Sunday! (7/14)

FC 3'rd Party Program Warning

Thought I would repost this here so that on one mistakes this program for something valid (from the AO launcher screen):

Third Party Tool Warning by Ole Schreiner - Fri, 05 Jul, 2002 - It has come to our attention that there is a small program being distributed within the player community called AOtradev250.exe or a version name thereof. AOtradev250.exe is classed as a Trojan Horse, a virus that can be used to search your computer for username and passwords. Funcom Customer Service does not under any circumstances support any third party tools to be run with Anarchy Online. You as users of the Internet should always be extremely careful downloading any programs unless you are absolutely certain the distributor can be trusted. This incident shows that a Trojan Horse can be hidden in what is seemingly a "cool tool". It has come to our attention that some of our players have used this program, letting a "hacker" get access to their player account and abused it. This is very unfortunate but unfortunately something Funcom can not take responsibility for. Funcom policy is very simple. We strongly advice not to use any 3rd party tools and we are not responsible for any consequences, or liable for any issues that may occur from running any 3rd party applications. We will ban all accounts where username and passwords have come to other persons than the account-owners attention, but will not actively search for these accounts. We take full responsibility of our own player database, but do not take responsibility over a player’s computer.

So pls be careful what you download and use. Hope to see everyone at the meeting tomorrow, and be ready to vote! :)

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Discussed and approved an alliance with the MI-R2 org. A more formal announcement and document will hopefully be made soon, but for now, be sure and give a warm greeting to any MI-R2 member you may run into!
  • Announced Tabataia's idea of a "Claw Bank" and then discussed weapon banks as a whole. In theory we decided it might be best to have 1 willing person to handle each weapon type (1he, piercing, etc.) For now we can discuss on the boards and hopefully establish a few of these banks soon. For now, if you have any spare claws you would like to donate contact Tabataia, and I would be happy to hold on to any parry sticks also, seeing as that I already have about 15 from my interest in them many moons ago. :)
  • Sannoz announced that he will be taking a 2-3 month hiatus from the game, but shall return! While we are sad to see him go, we will eagerly await his return to us and his lovely bride as well!
  • Syndah mentioned the great job the recruiters are doing, and i certainly second that opinion! It takes a special type of person to put their own game off and stop what they are doing to help new members join our great org, and we certainly thank them for this! In related news, I have now updated the member list of the recruiter house (House Gassho), which can be found here. If you are contacted by someone interested in joining the Dojo, pls direct them to any of these ppl, or myself of course.
  • Punkmuffin mentioned the thread started by Annias in the general forum about posting RL pictures of members on the website. If you have any ideas about how to do this, or would like participate in this, check the thread here.
  • And at the conclusion, I reminded everyone of the council elections to be held at the next Assembly. Four positions will be open, so if you have unit member status or better and would like to run, please feel free to, and even campaign if you would like in this thread. I also encourage everyone that can to attend this meeting.

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here and the pic here.

Guild Fair at Reet Retreat

Saturday evening a collection of clan guilds sponsored a guild fair for all sides at Reet Retreat. I had decided that I would represent our guild, and would ask council members and anyone else that wanted to join me to help out. Once again the Dojo represented well, as we had easily at least 10 ppl there! We were all dressed in our ceremonial robes and staked out a corner of the green room to serve as the "Dojo Booth." While i did not see a single non-guilded person at the event (i believe they are what it was planned for, but oh well), many Dojo members did a fine job expounding on the virtues of joining our wonderful org.

After a bit of socializing, we left Reet to join an "org leader auction" that was taking place right outside. Whether it be courage or insanity, I decided to join in on the event, despite again the entire auction being clan leaders only. Luckily I had quite a few friends there willing to bid on me, and eventually was won by Flupper for the handsome sum of 1.7 million credits! What Flupper will do with me for her allotted 2 hours is still TBD, but I am sure it will be much better than what some random clanner may have been planning. The money is currently in my possesion, and will most likely be used to create a collection of "noobie packs" to help out young Omni in the future. Thx to all that attended this event, and for representing the Dojo well once again!

A few pics here for your viewing pleasure - The "booth"near the fireplace, and another here, the Dojo improvising on our circle skills here, our group looking on at the auction, and an aerial shot. Thx to all who sent in pictures!

Thursday, June 27'th

Sannoz and Azenta are wed in Rome Park!

In a moving ceremony performed in beautiful Rome Park, our resident lovely couple were wed in the presence of Dojo family and friends. Here are a collection of pics and highlights from the wonderful event:

  • After a series of nerve-racking delays, the priest finally arrived at our congregation location, where many Dojo members and other high-lvl omni had gathered, and we slowly settled into a few nice rows at the north end of Rome Park. (Click here) Minister Cradoc1 then began the service. It was well constructed and delivered, as both parties declared their loyalty to the contract and to each other.
  • After exchanging personal words (Sannoz's sent the female section of the gallery into tears) and rings, Mr. and Mrs. Thompon were announced to the witnesses! (Click here)
  • We then travelled to Reet Retreat for the reception, where I presented the happy couple with a "honeymoon pack" filled with all sorts of, erm, important things. ;) We also had a great time on the dance floor, first as a large group, then with just close Dojo friends. The party included the famous pink boots of Lovegod, as well as Kamius, the dancing Dojo stud, surrounded by a great number of beautiful Dojo women! Sannoz and Azenta afterwards "retired" for the night, leaving the rest of us to dance and drink ourselves silly.

Congrats again to the happy couple, and thx to all who attended and/or set in pictures. It was certainly a wonderful day!

Sunday, June 23'rd

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Promoted Kamius for his dedication to The Dojo and his hard work on the Armor Bank. Congrats to Kamius, and thank you!
  • Discussed the upcoming events for after assemblies. Next Sunday (6/30) we will raid The Longest Road dungeon. The next Sunday will be Council Election time again, but we will cut the meeting short after the elections and proceed directly to running the scavenger hunt. More info on both of these events to come in the forums.
  • Finally we discussed FotD and what should be done with it. Many good points were drawn in the meeting, and many good suggestions have already been made in the forums. For now pls discuss this topic further in the forums here. Perhaps a vote on what to do next week.

Shortly after the assembly we had a small party in Baboons. See pic here of us grooving to our own music, and this nice one from Wappan. And don't forget to send in pics of your own if you have them!

And after the party Sannoz and Azenta were able to officially nail down their wedding date! It will be this Thursday, June 27th -18:00 GMT at Broken Shores Falls. More details and discussion can be found in this thread. All dojo members are invited, and i surely hope we will have a great turnout for this joyous event!

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here and the pic here.

Sunday, June 16'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Promoted Sannoz and Coldnight to the rank of Veteran (Unit Commander) for their record of service and dedication to The Dojo. Congrats to both, and thank you!
  • Discussed the upcoming Scavenger Hunt The Dojo will host for the Omni community. The date will be set for June 30'th after an abbreviated assembly. Offical posting will come soon (I promise!) on the official boards, player events calendar, and our own board.
  • Mentioned Lethalfire leaving the game. Lethal was a terrific member and contributed a lot to The Dojo and the MA community. We wish you the best Lethal!
  • Finally I discussed 14.4 patch a bit. Basically it looks like the beginning of a new wave of fresh content for the game, and should certainly should be considered a step in the right direction for AO.

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here.

Sunday, June 9'th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Discussed the Sharkoid event line a bit. Sharkoid is an ex-Omni Pol officer who sits in trade by the grid these days and tries to stay out of trouble (though not very well). There is a good chance that future events will center around him. So if you are on during the US evenings when he usually is in trade, make sure and check for him.
  • Discussed 14.2 patch a bit. Seems like most things are working correctly. 2 things to note currently however are (1) team mission bosses are not dropping much loot due to some last minute bug and (2) Alvin is not giving out any new missions until FC fixes him. If you have completed one of his quests you can return the results for the reward, but will not be able to progress to the next step yet.
  • Postponed the Smuggler's Den raid again - it is now scheduled for June 16'th after assembly, barring any other complications.
  • And right when assembly was ending, Sannoz announced the exchanging of engagement rings between he and Azenta! :) We are all anxiously awaiting the announcement of the wedding date now. . .

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here.

One housekeeping note - I have removed the player-created houses from the org info/forums. They have never truly been utilized. In the coming weeks I hope to emphasize our Functional Houses as a way members can help contribute to the org.

Sunday, June 2'nd

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Held our monthly Council elections. The mandates of Katjaka, Striken7, Sabbael, and Maraskye came to an end, and Ojsan, Striken7, Punkmuffin and Neurobatica were elected (well not truly elected, they were the 4 who wished to run, and had no competition) ;) I must say i was a little disappointed in the lack of candidates, as well as the turn out for the election assembly. Perhaps we should make these mandatory in the future? Anway, congrats to our new council members! :)
  • Discussed our "lease" on our EZBoard account. The lease was renewed by Nikh for 6 more months at a charge of $33. Currently we still have $65 extra in our community chest, which is way more than we can spend ;) The money will be held there until we need to renew again or if EZBoard offers more services in the near future we think we might want to purchase. Thanks again to all who helped out!
  • Discussed the upcoming patch (14.2) a bit. It will hit the live servers Wednesday. If you have any questions/comments about it please feel free to use the general forum.
  • Postponed the Smuggler's Den raid - it is now scheduled for June 9'th after assembly, barring any other complications.
  • Discussed the issues behind Enchantical's departure from The Dojo. Please see the log for a detailed description. Basically she decided to leave voluntarily for something she felt brought dishonor to the org. While this is a noble stance, everyone should know that we are very understanding in instances such as this and do not kick people from the org or ask them to leave on a whim. We wish to resolve any problems in-house if possible so that we may all remain together. As for the event that set this in motion, we at the time had no official stance toward it. Most likely we will discuss this more at the next assembly and hold a vote on policy.

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here.

Sunday, May 26th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Discussed the upcoming council elections for our next meeting. The mandates of Katjaka, Striken7, Sabbael, and Maraskye will come to an end at that time. If you have unit member or better status and would like to begin campaigning, please use this thread.
  • Discussed our "lease" on our EZBoard account. Basically we have a couple weeks to raise the funds to renew the Gold service, which keeps ads off the forums and offers more admin functions. It will cost $33 for another 6 month lease (Nikh paid this the last time) and $59 for a year's worth. No one is required to help pay for this, it is simply donation only. Judging from the response at the meeting tho, we should be in good shape :) If you would like to help, simply follow the links to the right of the collection box, which is located now towards the top of the main forum page. A hearty "Thank You" to all the generous individuals who are donating - This is just another example of what makes The Dojo so great! We will have an update on the collection status in the next assembly.
  • Discussed the upcoming patch (14.2) a bit. When it comes to the live servers we can hold a discussion of how best to implement the IPR, how to deal with the OE, etc. This can be during a future assembly, or if there is enough demand for it we can hold a separate meeting.

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here.

Sunday, May 19th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Discussed the current function of the armor bank and the possibility of adding an implant bank. For now we will focus on the armor bank however and try to make it so that all can best utilize it.
  • Timia discussed the Scavenger Hunt we have been planning. If you would like to help with its creation, please get in touch with Timia or myself and/or check the sticky thread in the events forum.
  • We will now plan a raid or NPC "execution" per week for after assembly. The target for the next assembly is listed in the events forum, where you can discuss strategies, etc.
  • Trojai suggested implementing an org tax and holding a lottery with the funds aquired. Discussion on this topic can be held in the general forum for now.

While this assembly did not have any pre-formed topics and was driven solely by suggested discussions, we still need to make sure and follow the rules throughout. I cover them each time before the assembly, not to hear myself speak, but to remind everyone how we are able to hold civil meetings and keep them at around an hour or less each time. Without order we can not maintain maximum efficiency.

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here.

Ridgefield Briefs Omni Citizens

Friday evening Spokesperson Ridgefield held a briefing in Omni HQ on the recent attacks upon Omni-Tek establishments. Included in the briefing was a summary of the week's events, followed by a Q&A session with those in attendance.

You can view the vicinity channel log of the event here and a pic of the discussion meeting here.

Tuesday, May 14th

Mercenaries Attack Clondyke Notum Transport Compound

Late Tuesday evening a message was broadcast in Trade central informing the citizens of an attack staged against the Notum Cannon facilities in Clondyke. Upon arriving at the scene, I soon found squads of 10 Veteran Clan Mercernaries attacking the guards and guns an the North gates of the compund. After disposing of the defences, the mercs seemed to fight among each other a bit before heading into the compound itself and surrounding the Notum Cannons. It was then that an organized force with several Dojo members present began to systematically hunt down the intruders and clear the area.

During the battle a certain spokesman Ridgefield transported to the area and began to inspect the corpses of the intruders. After the threat was neutralized, he held a short Q&A session on what had just transpired. In it he mentioned that there was an unauthorized transport landing near Borealis the night before, and that perhaps this was linked to the day's activities. Speculations ran wild as many in attendance tried to explain the seemingly feeble attempt to invade such an important target. Ridgefield then left to continue his investigation elsewhere, and the remaining Omni leaders spoke briefly on possible future actions.

You can view the vicinity channel log of the event here and a pic of the discussion afterwards here.

Training Exercise in MMD Successful, Dojo Represents Well

Late Sunday Evening (9 pm EST) Sharkoid appeared once again in Trade to organize a show of force for Omni citizens (see the back story here). After thirty minutes of organization, teams were sent into the grid towards MMD. The objective was to hold MMD for 30 minutes. This was accomplished quite easily, as there was very little resistance from the clans. A few groups then travelled to Camelot in search of clan activity, only to find none. Upon their return to MMD a small clan force assembled in MMD and a few skirmishes broke out. After the activity had been deemed insignifcant and the time holding MMD approached 1 hour, Sharkoid decided to end the exercise.

The Dojo was represented well in this activity by Timia, Trojai, Grimmmy, Enchantical, Soulbanger, Vonture, Shinmei, and Emosion. I remained in Trade to relay communications from our members in the field and the group leader channel Sharkoid ran. I also patrolled Trade, Ent. and Rome for any possible Clan counterattack, but saw only one foolish clanner who was promptly disposed of by the local Trade guards. A big gold star to Enchantical for her efforts this night, as she disposed of three clanners in her first combat activity seen! :)

You can view the Dojo channel log of the event here and the leader log here.

Sunday, May 12th

Dojo Assembly Recap

We held our weekly assembly this past Sunday - here are the highlights:

  • Voted to keep our MA-only recruitment policy for the org.
  • Discussed the upcoming defense of Trade/show of force in MMD.
  • RaptorMA agreed to start work on a PvP house. It will probably be the activiation of the previously dormant functional house "Kempo."

Thanks all for attending. You can see the log here and the pic here .

My retirement

As many of you will have noticed by now, I have decided to retire from my position of Sensei of the Dojo. This is due to the combined effect of my real life work that is again extremely demanding (after a few months of calm) and also due to a lower motivation with the game.

I wanted to thank all the members, and especially the most active ones (they will recognize themselves!) for making The Dojo one of the best org on Rubi Ka 2. AO was my first MMORPG. When I started last october, I first played the game like any other game, not interacting much with anyone. But when I discovered teaming, and later, organizations (thx to Timia, or her now disapeared relative Maita), I understood that my gaming experience would never be the same. As Sensei of the Dojo, I have many remarkable memoies, that I would never had with any other game - don't worry I won't mention them all here except maybe one of the best one, which was when a few members decided to offer me my Yalmie - this was really a fantastic moment!

To make it short, I enjoyed every moment of being Sensei, from the first days when we were a handful and we were running around recruiting people, to now where we are one of the largest org around. It is now time for me to step down, and let others take the reins.

In practice the Council is here and manages the org. Chronita now holds the "president" title, if only because we need someone active to wear it. How the Dojo will be organized from now on is really up for you all to decide. We will also need someone to actively update the website (not that much work, but we would need someone that will do it seriously - see with the Council memebers / Chronita). I myself will still be playing, when I have time (which I dont have much these days), I won't cancel my subscription for the time being (anyway it is paid for the next 3 months....). So I'm not saying goodbye, I'll still be there, just not as the active leader of the org.

Thanks to you all and long live the Dojo!
